Definition
Local presence is a dialer feature that automatically changes the outbound caller ID to display a phone number with the same area code as the person being called. Prospects are significantly more likely to answer a call from a local number than from an unfamiliar or toll-free number. Studies show local presence can increase answer rates by 200-400%.
How It Works
When a rep dials a number in, say, the 415 area code (San Francisco), the local presence feature automatically selects a 415 number from a pool of available local numbers and displays it as the caller ID. The recipient sees a local San Francisco number and is much more likely to answer.
The rep's actual phone number is never exposed, and the call still routes through the dialer normally. For example, a team calling healthcare administrators across 20 states can use local presence to appear local in every region without maintaining 20 different phone lines..
Real-World Example
